Where are we located?

We are located in Orono, Ontario.

What type of wood do we use?

It varies depending on the project. We use Pine and Spruce for furniture, Baltic Birch, MDF and Pine for signs & serving trays, and Black Walnut, Maple, Cherry & Bamboo for our charcuterie boards.

Do we have a store front?

No, we are a home-based business. We do have some ready made items at a few local stores that you can view. 

What is the turn-around time?

Unfortunately, we can only give an approx. time frame at time of ordering.

Do we deliver?

Furniture deliveries within the Clarington area have a $50 delivery fee. Out of that area will be listed/discussed at the time of ordering.

We will deliver to your front door only, so ensure you a have the help to have your item brought inside. We also ship our signs via Canada Post Canada wide!

Can we do custom orders?

Yes. These orders take longer to complete as we must design them, get a material list and build. Because of this process, we ask that you contact us directly instead of making an order via our site. Prices will be reflected once we draw the design.

Are the prices firm?

Yes! We are not a buy and sell group. Our pricing is listed, and we do offer bundle deals for our furniture. From time to time our pricing will change to reflect the increase in materials. We continue to offer quality-built furniture at affordable pricing.

Can we paint furniture instead of stain?

Yes, we can paint instead of staining, but the customer must keep in mind that wood is not perfect. As much as we sand our items, we cannot remove imperfections or knots, so when painted these will be seen. Staining hides these items and or gives the rustic look. If painted, we use cabinet grade white but as said, you WILL see the imperfections in the wood. We do 2 coats of paint and due to the extra time and material, there is an added charge for painted items.

Can we colour match?

NO! We are not in the business to colour match and stain looks different on Maple Vs Walnut Vs Pine Vs Spruce. What looks like one colour in our shop will look different in your home. Lighting changes as does the tones on the wood. We will show you our stain options, and on larger pieces of furniture we have completed. Remember, you are looking at these through a screen (phone / computer), so it is not a 100% true photo. If you would like to see the colours in person, or bring a sample home, we will supply a sample for you.

Do we offer engraving?

YES! We have multiple CNC router's working and our laser engraver producing engraved signs, clocks, charcuterie boards and cutting boards and a new CO2 machine for all your laser etching. Message us to custom design your piece!

Can the signs be used outdoors?

All outdoor signs come sealed with 2 coats of exterior clear coat. We recommend if keeping your sign outside, place it under a covered area and protected from the elements. 

We also offer Extira product met for outdoors.

Rain and snow are not friendly to your sign. These are wood and after time, the elements will take its toll on your sign. 

We recommend a minimum yearly sand with a 220 grit sand paper to clean the outside of your sign to remove any grime. Don't worry, the 220 grit paper will clean the sign but is not harsh enough to scratch it.  Reapply a exterior clear coat to your sign. Adding a build up of clear will help protect the wood. 

Protect and care for your sign. 

We can not take responsibility for signs left unprotected outside. 

Do we ship?

We ship Canada wide & the USA

Shipping fee's are dependent on the items purchased. All shipping is added at check out through our website.

This fee includes foam, bubble wrap, tape, paper, time to package and deliver to the Canada Post office. Also includes Canada Post shipping fee with tracking number. 

Oversized signs will be quoted at the time of ordering.

*Ordering multiple items will save as we can package your items together.

Process to book furniture

At the the time of booking, we ask for a $50-100 non refundable deposit to book your custom piece. 4 weeks prior building, a deposit of 50% of your order is due and we will confirm stain choice. Balance due upon completion. No changes can be made once 50% initial payment is made. 

Furniture Delays?

Unfortunately with the events in todays market, delays have been experienced in lumber, stores and for materials. These delays are out of our control yet causing a backlog of furniture. We will do our best to reach out to customers to inform of any delays but due to the volume of orders, we may only reach out when we are 6-8 weeks out from your order.

Please message us to follow up on delays. If you wish to cancel your order due to delays, we will refund your deposit less $50 as long as your order is greater than 6 weeks from building.

Do we offer returns?

NO. At the time of ordering we will confirm your dimensions and stain colour. Once we start production of your item, we can not make any changes. Please be sure your measurements are correct and take the time you need to choose your stain. 

All signs will come with a computerized mock up. Please be sure to check the spelling. Once approved we can not make changes after the fact.

Do we sell to businesses? 

Yes. If you are a store front business looking to add some KHDW items, please message us. We always want to make sure our products are a good fit for both your store and our products.
